David Almond
David Almond was born and raised in Felling and Newcastle and writes children’s books. His first children’s novel, Skellig, won the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children’s Novel of the Year Award. David Almond’s Skellig has been adapted into a stage play, film and opera.
